Give Voice to Your Needs – so you can start living, not just surviving!
Hello! I’m Maria. As a psychologist specialized in Clinical and Community Psychology with over 4 years of experience, I support people going through difficult phases of life with empathy, acceptance, and genuine presence. I have experience in both individual and group therapy with people dealing with addiction, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and mental health conditions, as well as with populations such as refugees and individuals experiencing homelessness. At the same time, I support adults who have experienced abuse or neglect, individuals living with chronic illnesses, people pursuing body transformation or weight loss, and those seeking overall wellbeing. For me, therapy is not only about “coping” — it is about finding strength, giving voice to your needs, and rebuilding your relationship with yourself and the world around you.
My approach is empathetic, person-centered, and based on building a trusting therapeutic relationship. As a Clinical and Community Psychologist, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where every person can express themselves freely, without fear or guilt. I rely on evidence-based approaches and experiential tools to strengthen resilience, self-awareness, and functionality in the people who trust me. I do not focus only on the individual, but also consider their broader social environment, recognizing the challenges and influences that arise from it. Together, we work toward meaningful emotional relief, understanding complex experiences, and gradual empowerment, always respecting each person’s individual pace.
Support through difficult experiences:
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help adults who have experienced abuse or neglect identify and restructure negative thoughts that affect their behavior, aiming to restore self-esteem and strengthen empowerment.
Support for individuals with chronic illnesses:
Through CBT, I help individuals living with chronic conditions manage stress and the emotional challenges associated with illness, strengthening coping strategies and their ability to handle everyday difficulties.
Body transformation and weight loss:
I apply CBT techniques to support individuals seeking physical transformation or weight loss by identifying thoughts that lead to unhelpful behaviors and replacing them with healthier strategies and wellbeing-focused goals.
Wellbeing and personal growth:
I use CBT to help individuals seeking wellbeing by working on their thoughts and beliefs in order to achieve emotional balance, strengthen self-connection, and improve their relationship with their environment.
Insecurity and self-esteem:
Using CBT, I help individuals with low self-esteem recognize negative thoughts that influence their behavior and reshape them, empowering them to recognize their value and pursue personal goals with confidence.
Anxiety and excessive worrying:
Through CBT, I help individuals identify and understand the thoughts that create anxiety while developing strategies to manage stressful situations, release negative scenarios, and strengthen inner calm and emotional balance.
Chronic stress and emotional exhaustion:
I apply CBT techniques to support individuals experiencing long-term pressure by helping them recognize and restructure thoughts that lead to exhaustion, empowering them to regain emotional energy and mental resilience.
Relationships and communication:
CBT can help individuals understand relationship dynamics and identify unhealthy communication patterns. Together, we focus on developing healthier interaction strategies to strengthen relationships and improve emotional communication.
Procrastination and difficulty achieving goals:
I use CBT to help individuals who struggle to achieve their goals by analyzing the thoughts that hold them back and providing practical strategies for motivation, action, and personal achievement.
Life changes and adaptation to new conditions:
I apply CBT to help individuals facing life transitions (such as career changes or personal life adjustments), supporting them in accepting new circumstances and developing healthy strategies for adaptation and wellbeing.
